Is Kars a Turkish town? Going around studying signs
and symbols, it seems obviously Turkish. And many buildings too are typical: Old or new,
but in derilict state. Some of them mended by what material might be at hand.
But streets and sidewalks are broad, the city is open and airy, trees are
planted; thus producing an avenue feeling while I'm strolling around. Nice. Easy to
get beer too. Even a place where beer is not served, in a garden café close to
the river, they obtained a few bottles when they understood the importance. They
just went to the nearest shop, served it after adding 33 per cent on the shop
price.
And then it started to rain. Nice too, with dark
clouds sailing over the highland plain with rays of light towards the ground and
whirlwinds playing with any loose object.
