Town of thousand stairs

In Artvin blackberries are big as garden raspberries and plenty as grain of sand in the town's thousand stairs.

With a cup of Turkish coffee in a café and view to the valley, the River Coruh and mountains. Peak altitudes above 3.000 meters. It could have been beautiful if it wasn't for the dam construction work, corrugated iron roofs, four six storeys concrete buildings.  And the Shell petrol station has got the best site in town.

A man told me about an up river village which established their rubbish heap within the river, but belove the villagers laundry bank. In other words: They solved a problem by letting the nature taking responsibility for their rubbish. And the down river villages? Anyhow, now they're damming it all up.
