From Mt. Nemrut
King Antiochus 1. followed a tradition of claiming divine and powerful ancestors. From his father he could
follow the line all the way to the mighty Persian king Dareios, and the Greek
line, through his mother, to Alexander the great.
Later the Christian writers of the
New Testament tried the same with Jesus. They made two lines too, both of them
back to king David...supposed Joseph was his real father.
For myself I can follow the line
back to beggars and half slaves, through my mother's as well as father's ancestor
lines.
